Whether you aspire to become a conservationist, wildlife manager, researcher, exotic veterinarian, or simply have a deep love for wildlife, this course offers you the opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills in a dynamic and immersive environment. Participants will engage in various field practicals and interact with a diverse range of wildlife species on different farms. Explore the Eastern Cape, immerse yourself in its beautiful culture, and work in the field every day with wild animals!

Even for aspiring exotic veterinarians, understanding the foundations, history, management, and conservation methods for wildlife is critical.

If you’re looking for a more immersive and extensive experience, consider joining our Comprehensive Wildlife Experience. This package offers one full week in each of our programs, including the Wildlife Capture course, Wildlife Management, and Conservation, giving you a well-rounded view of the diverse aspects of wildlife conservation at a discounted price.

On the Wildlife Management and conservation experience, you will strengthen your skills in habitat management, population monitoring, and then add the wildlife relocation—key elements of conservation. This course pairs perfectly with wildlife capture, offering hands-on experience in managing wild populations.

You can further personalize your experience by extending your stay. Whether you wish to deepen your knowledge in wildlife capture or explore another area of conservation, you have the option to add an extra week or more to continue your learning journey.

By combining these courses, you’ll leave with a profound understanding of wildlife for your future endeavors and the future of wildlife conservation and welfare. This course covers topics such as, Wildlife counts, population dynamics, Managing wildlife in captivity, Giraffe research, parasite management and genetic diversity.

Courses run weekly, from Mondays to Fridays. Weekends are yours to explore the beauty of South Africa with our exciting weekend activities for you to choose from!

If you wish to extend your stay in our accommodation or anywhere in the country to explore South Africa further before departing for your country, we are more than happy to arrange help you arrange it. We pride ourselves on being flexible and accommodating to ensure you have the most enriching experience possible!

 

Wildlife Species you may work with:

-Many antelope species- Giraffe, Impala, Springbuck, Wildebeest, Sable, Eland, Zebra, Nyala and Kudu

-If we are lucky, we may get the opportunity to work with Rhinos, Lion and other bigger species, but we can never guarantee this.

Please note we are on the coastline so Elephants are not popular around us, HOWEVER, we offer a weekend activity where you can walk with elephants and learn all about elephant conservation in South Africa. We will also cover topics on the elephant population during the experience.

Program Fees and Payment Information

The fee for the Wildlife Management and Conservation field experience covers everything you need for a comfortable and enriching experience. This includes:

-Accommodation (comfortable and well-equipped rooms)

-Meals during the week (delicious, local cuisine)

-Meals on weekends depends on your weekend activities

-WIFI (to stay connected)

-T-shirt

-Learning materials

-All transport (within the program, including to different game reserves)

-Airport transfers

 

The Wildlife Management and Conservation field experience for 2025 is priced at $1300 for one week. To secure your spot, a $300 booking fee is required (even if you are unsure of your exact dates yet).

The remaining program fee of $1000 is due 6 weeks before your arrival. You have the option to pay the program fee in one or two installments, based on your financial preferences. We are committed to accommodating your financial needs and making the payment process as flexible as possible. We use PayPal, Venmo and Zelle.
